I design, imagine, create & write from beautiful La Crosse, WI. My passion is telling stories - whether that is designing the brand identity for a local business or the advertising campaign for a national nonprofit. Each project is a extensive labor of love, creativity, enthusiasm, persistence & finding the joy in the world around us. I take pride in being both professional & fun. My process involves looking to the everyday for inspiration, delving into the whimsical, & (probably) an unhealthy amount of caffeine. I design beautiful stories.

PAPER: There is something romantic about seeing a vintage poster hanging on a wall or the feel of that new book in your hands. From logos & business cards to posters & full book design I make paper pretty.
PIXELS: The web is all about making the user experience more enjoyable & efficient. I use grids, typography, color & clean code to make pixels beautiful.
I grew up in a creative household with a habit of asking too many questions and drawing crayola murals on the walls (I still ask too many questions). I discovered graphic design in high school when all the other "cool" electives were taken, but in college I studied geology, water resource preservation and professional writing. I thought I was too analytically minded to do art until a friend pointed out that I had more fun formating my research papers than actually, well, doing research.
For the last 4 years I have been jumping between my design work and my work in the literary world, but last year I decided I was really going to focus on my design work. There is flower child inside me that never stopped believing in faery tales, world peace, or vegetarian food. I want to bring that sense of wonder and purpose to design. I have a love of clean lines, pops of color, beautiful type, and small whimsical details. Blend that with my love of story and I am drawn to creations that give your audience a true sense of who you are.
When I'm not playing the part of designer I am an avid reader, fledgeling writer & poet, aspiring yogini, full-time Star Wars nerd with a uncontrollable app addiction.
I am currently available for new projects.
I love meeting new people and talking about new projects so if an idea has been rattling around in your brain, get in touch and we can work it out over a cup of coffee.
Please be sure to be as specific as possible with project details (time frames, budgets...you know...the boring stuff.) That lets me give you a more accurate quote and generally makes both our lives easier
